A few summers ago, our family was vacationing in Florida. We hired a charter and went snorkeling. As we were heading out of the harbor, I was amazed at my feelings as we neared the opening into the Gulf of Mexico. The waters were large, wide, open and beckoning me to come. Friends, I have this same sense for us as a church. These first few years of getting Crosswinds planted, built, and organized has been like building a sailing ship. As we have entered this year, we are at the opening to the wide open seas. We are setting sail, to be and to become all that Jesus Christ is calling us to be. The winds of the Holy Spirit are filling our sails and leading us into people's lives with the goodness and the greatness of God. I am so filled with anticipation as we are leaving the harbor. Together we are going to where the winds of the Holy Spirit are leading us. As we enter the open seas, I know there will be rough seas, storms, winds and high waves. There will also be times of calm. The winds of the Holy Spirit will lead us to the right people who are seeking the God they don’t know; people who are seeking hope, life, peace, and more. We will meet these people and the strength we have is 1) Relationship with Jesus Christ and 2) Relationship with one another. All people: men, women, boys, and girls are created to need relationships. We crave it. We are designed for it. This Crosswinds ship is sailing into people's lives and we are taking relationships. Let's do this together.
This weekend I am teaching to the truth that we are created to be owners of God's vision to build community. You don’t want to miss it.
See you on Sunday…Love ya! His Servant!
