I have a growing vision for you and me, as fully committed followers of Jesus Christ. This vision is deepening as we were heading out of the harbor. I have huge anticipation of what Jesus Christ is doing in us and through us as we follow HIM. The life waters are large, wide open and beckoning for us to come. His call upon our lives, to live in Him, to experience Him and to influence others is huge.
Friends, We are setting sail! The winds of the Holy Spirit are filling our sails and leading us to experience Jesus Christ in a huge way. We must yield to the winds of the Holy Spirit to experience this filling.
Listen to the Holy Spirit's cry in your heart right now. Quiet yourself and hear Him call out to you. What is in the way of Him filling you? What emotional burdens are blocking Him? What mental demands are you placing upon the Holy Spirit right now that are hindering Him?
Friends, I am calling out to you as well to hoist the sails. I have a growing excitement of what it could mean if we came together on the weekend ready to participate in the corporate community. Friends, open yourself up to fully engage in worship, to fully bring your spiritual gifts to the community, to fully release your prayers and your tongue, to fully release those mind limitations we carry and to radically pursue God like we have not before.
The ship we sail is leading us to experience God like we have never experienced Him. We have to want it. Do you want it? The ship we sail is not leading us to lives of maintenance or status quo but to fully experience all that our God would want to do in us and through us. Friends, I don’t want to limit God. I do want to fully belong to Jesus Christ and fully experience Him in a magnanimous way so as to say this, “look at what He is doing in us.”
Here is the truth though, We will experience Him to the degree that we are ready to engage Him, to yield ourselves to Him and are ready to release ourselves to Him. We are directed this way in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 4There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men [people]. 7Now to each one [that means you] the manifestation [open, obvious working] of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 11All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.
Jesus Christ has determined to manifest His amazing Holy Spirit, not for us, but for others. My call to you today, is this. Get ready. Come prepared to let the Holy Spirit flow from you in this community. As the Holy Spirit fills our sails we are going to experience Him in a huge magnanimous way.
