April 27th - Makeover Your Relationships
Spring is here! YAHOO! This past winter has been a tough one for me. I am not usually down or depressed during the winter…I don’t mind the cold…I really enjoy snow…especially snow days!! This past winter was different, for me, and spring has been a very welcome season for me this year. I am so enjoying the warmer weather, the growing of the plants and flowers; and the opportunity to work outside in our yard.
If you have been at our home, you have seen our garden pond. For me water is peaceful and the sound of moving or rushing water seems to wash newness into my soul. Last weekend, I began an ambitious change to our pond and relocated the waterfall to the side. I had picked up a large amount of huge landscape rocks to surround the waterfall. That part is finished and it looks so good.
After finishing the waterfall, I needed more river rock. I didn’t have the money to buy more rock, so decided to wait. Well, while driving I saw a huge pile of river rock outside someone’s home. They were setting this rock out by the curb to be picked up by the city. Well, I stopped immediately and asked permission from the home owner to have the rock. They were very excited to have this rock collected. Grabbing, Austin and Kolya and our shovels, we shoveled river rock into my trailer to take home. I did bribe them with a promised trip to Culver’s after we finished working. I was so proud of their hard work.
Anyway, yesterday and today I am totally sore. I can hardly move without my body reminding me of all of the hard work, all of the lifting and shoveling. As I sit enjoying the pond, I can admit it was worth all of the hard work.
This week, I am speaking to the truth of transforming relationships. What I realize is that transformation is hard work. It sometimes is like shoveling rock, or can even feel like I am hitting my head against the rock. :{> To successfully navigate the transforming work of the Holy Spirit and the Word, we need others to help us…we need community. I am preparing to show us how to pursue transforming relationships and how to work together to become what Jesus Christ has created us and intends for us to be. I look forward to seeing you this weekend.
Sunday, Brad Houchin, Shelley Bauer and myself are driving to Atlanta Georgia to attend the Orange Conference. This conference is focused on KidStuf. We will come back Thursday evening. Pray for us this week.
Keep praying for the Faith Facility. Friends, we are definitely on a journey of faith.
Friends, see you on Sunday…Love ya!! Let God’s makeover continue!!

Scripture for the E-letter
Proverbs 12:25-26 NIV An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up. A righteous man is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
Proverbs 16:27-29 NLT Scoundrels create trouble; their words are a destructive blaze. A troublemaker plants seeds of strife; gossip separates the best of friends. Violent people mislead their companions, leading them down a harmful path.
