Last Saturday, Jill, Austin and me were in Peoria with Kolya. He is running cross-country for Kingsley Junior High School. It is obvious that Kolya doesn’t get his passion and strength for running from Jill and me. If you know our story, you know that we adopted Kolya from Russia 4 years ago. Evan is so funny to say, when Kolya takes off his shirt, it is way obvious that Kolya is not a biological Savage kid.
Anyway, Kolya did an excellent job. In his race, out of roughly 100-150 boys he came in 17th. He is amazing. I seriously enjoy this sport for the sake of the encouragement. I have never experienced any sport where the same level is given to those who come across the line first and those that come across last. It is amazing. I am reminded of the Apostle Paul and his writings in 1 Corinthians 9:24, run the race to get the prize. Galatians 2:2, Paul writes that I feared that I had run the race in vain. I have sometimes felt that same fear. Paul also wrote a strong word of encouragement in Hebrews 12:1, Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
Friends, this weekend, I am teaching to the truth that we are delivered and victorious; and that prayer and praise is the response to the spiritual battle. I am wrestling with this message and am sensing this weekend is going to special as we come to a close in this teaching guarding the spiritual battle. My expectation is that God will be in our midst, will move through us, and together we will experience Him.
Friend’s, this weekend is War Sunday, so put on you camouflage garb and come ready to experience God and to praise Him for the truth that we are delivered and victorious.
I want to encourage you to do a
www.bible.com search on the word delivered and victorious. Read, pray through these truths. Join me in listening to this teaching and expect to experience God.
Friends, I am loving the journey, so…Let’s Roll!
